Queen movie: We’d like ‘Keith Richards’ and ‘Bob Dylan’ to play Freddie Mercury…

Ben Whishaw as Keith Richards and Bob Dylan
Tonight on the Classic Rock Magazine Show Roger Taylor talks to Nicky Horne about all things Queen, his solo career and more.
He confirms that Sacha Baron Cohen didn’t walk out of the Queen movie, as discussed by Brian May last week (“Sacha didn’t walk out,” says Roger. “It was decided that he probably wasn’t the right man for the role”) and confirms that they’re looking at actor Ben Whishaw, best known as Q in Skyfall.
Whishaw has form playing A-list rock stars, having played Keith Richards in Stoned, the 2005 movie about the murder of Brian Jones, and was one of the actors who played Bob Dylan in 2008′s I’m Not There. Other notable credits include the lead in 2006′s Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer, and Layer Cake in which he appeared with his future Bond colleague Daniel Craig.
